DisneySide Celebration

I’m so excited to share with you our 2nd DisneySide Celebration Last year we went with an adorable “Spring Time Love” Theme. This year we were a little more practical. My sister’s husband’s family have four members with birthdays spanning from end of Feb to middle of March. So this year our DisneySide Celebration was a birthday party for them!

Growing up in South Florida, Walt Disney World in Orlando was a constant presence in our lives. From vacations to movies to toys, my whole family was hooked. So surprising them with a DisneySide Celebration birthday was the perfect party theme. Thank you to DisneySide for the opportunity.

National YoungArts Foundation Gala

I’ve had the great pleasure of working with a wonderful organization called the National YoungArts Foundation for the past couple of years. Having gone to an all arts high school, YoungArts has a special place in my heart. They identify and support the next generation of artists in the visual, literary, design and performing arts. Over 11,000 high school artists audition to be a part of a week long program where they workshop with renowned mentors and artists. Plus, the can earn scholarships for use to enhance their craft. It’s an amazing opportunity.

At the end of the week, they host theNational YoungArts Foundation Gala for the students and visiting artists. This year I was selected to design and construct the centerpieces for the gala. I wanted to give them a piece that reflects the various art areas and the youth of the students. Everyone was so excited! It was a true honor to be among all those wonderful artists.

Beer Themed Birthday Party

Happy 2015! Hope you had a safe and fun New Year’s. My husband’s birthday is Dec 31 and he rarely celebrates his birthday. It’s a mix of the stress that comes with throwing a “New Year’s” party and not wanting to be the center of attention. However, this year I was able to talk him into letting me throw him a birthday party!

Being a good Midwestern boy, he loves everything beer and German themed. So instead of fighting that fact, I embraced it and planned “Cheers and Beers” – a beer themed birthday party. We invited all of our closest friends to game room in our condo building and had an amazing time.

The AMAZING cake was provided by The Cake Lady in Milwaukee. It tasted as good as it looked!

I didn’t take a lot of photos, since I was too busy playing hostess, but here’s what I have. Please excuse the iPhone quality of these photos.

Disney Side Celebration!

Growing up in South Florida, Walt Disney World in Orlando was a constant presence in my life. From vacations to movies to toys, my whole family was hooked. I even worked for RunDisney after graduating from Clemson. Being immersed in the culture just solidified my love for the brand, company and everything it stands for.

Now imagine my surprise when my sister called me a few months ago to let me know that she won the opportunity to throw a Disney Side as part of the Disney Side Celebrations campaign. Basically, Disney sent a box of goodies as inspiration for throwing a Disney themed party. Since we were so close to Valentine’s Day, we decided on a “Spring Time Love” Theme. We infused the theme throughout the party and guests were ones we loved. The biggest hit of the night was our dessert display and impromptu photo booth. It was a magical day!
