Elegant Indian Wedding at PGA National
Indian weddings are always so much fun to plan! The traditions are beautiful and the colors are stunning. Anu and Vik were an amazing couple who decided to plan their entire wedding in 2 months! It was a whirlwind, but absolutely worth it. They decided to host a PGA National Wedding, which the perfect place to host an outdoor ceremony plus ballroom reception.
One of the traditions that Anu and Vik observed was their ceremony time. The priest took their times and dates of birth and calculated that the optimum time for them to get married was between the 8:17am and 8:58am. Since there are quite a few pre-ceremony ceremonies, this meant an early morning for all of us. Another fun tradition in Indian weddings is the groom’s entrance, known as the Baraat. The groom’s family awaits the arrival of the groom and then escort him to the ceremony space. For Vik’s Baraat, he decided to enter via helicopter landing on the 9th green on PGA National’s golf course. Amazingly fun!
The ceremony itself took place at the Honda Pavilion – a great outdoor space overlooking the lake and golf course at PGA National. The mundap was beautifully draped with yellow and white silk and accented with a chandelier and hanging crystal orbs provided by Orange Blossoms Floral and Event Design. Anu entered the ceremony by a palanquin being carried by the men in her family. The couple is not allowed to see each other for 24 hours prior to the ceremony, so when Anu and Vik first saw each other that morning you could feel the immense love.
After the ceremony, guests were invited to enjoy lunch while the couple took a helicopter ride to see North Palm Beach. IT was a great way to spend their first moments together as husband and wife.
The reception space was spectacular. Full room draping and smart lights that changes colors throughout the evening was provided by Next Design International. They also projected the monogram onto the dance floor. Orange Blossoms Floral and Event Design created the stage and custom geometric mirrored centerpieces that were breathtaking. My FAVORITE part of the whole reception was the 3 tier hanging cake!
The best part of the evening was the surprise entrance by Anu and Vik. They entered behind a projection screen which created a beautiful silhouette of the couple. They started their dance behind the screen, then emerged to finish their first dance on the center of the dance floor. Such a beautiful moment! Thankfully Haring Photography and Anchor Weddings Videography were their to capture every wonderful moment.
